Shopify Apps by Green Tile Studio — Effective February 1, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Green Tile Studio ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you install and use any of our Shopify apps ("the Apps") available through the Shopify App Store.

By installing any of our Apps, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.

2. Information We Collect

Our Apps access and store the following data through Shopify's APIs:

Store Information

  • Shop domain (e.g., your-store.myshopify.com)
  • Store owner name and email address
  • Shopify plan and subscription status
  • Store timezone, locale, and currency settings

Store Content

  • Store-level data required for the App to deliver its stated functionality (e.g., products, pages, articles, collections, metaobjects, metafield definitions)
  • Content generated by the App (e.g., version history, backups, snapshots)

App Usage

  • Billing and subscription status within the App
  • App settings and configuration preferences
  • Error logs and diagnostic data

Information We Do Not Collect No customer data

  • Customer personal information (names, emails, addresses, phone numbers)
  • Customer browsing behavior or analytics
  • Payment or financial information
  • Cookies or tracking pixels on your storefront
  • Customer order data

3. Shopify API Scopes

Each App requests only the Shopify API permission scopes necessary for its core functionality. The specific scopes are displayed during installation and on each App's listing page.

We follow the principle of data minimization — we only request access to the data required to deliver the App's services.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:

  • Providing and operating the App's core features and services
  • Processing and managing your App installation and account
  • Managing your subscription and billing status
  • Responding to your support requests and inquiries
  • Monitoring App performance, diagnosing issues, and improving functionality
  • Communicating important updates about the App, including changes to features or this policy
  • Complying with legal obligations and enforcing our terms

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, automated decision-making, or any purpose unrelated to the App's core functionality.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to any third party. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

We use the following service providers strictly for operating our Apps:

These providers process data only as necessary to deliver their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your store data only for as long as necessary to provide the App's services. When you uninstall an App, all data associated with your store is deleted within 48 hours of receiving Shopify's shop/redact webhook, except where retention is required by law.

Some Apps may apply their own retention periods (e.g., automatic cleanup of backups beyond a plan's retention window). These details are documented within each App.

You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at [email protected] or by uninstalling the App.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission via HTTPS/TLS
  • Secure database storage with access controls
  • OAuth 2.0 authentication through Shopify's official APIs
  • Regular security monitoring and error tracking

While we take reasonable precautions, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Shopify Compliance Webhooks

We comply with Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks:

  • customers/data_request — We respond to requests for customer data. Since our Apps do not store customer personal data, responses confirm no data is held.
  • customers/redact — We process requests to delete customer data. Since our Apps do not store customer personal data, no action is required beyond acknowledgment.
  • shop/redact — When you uninstall an App, we delete all store data associated with your shop within 48 hours of receiving this webhook.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access — Request a copy of the data we hold about your store
  • Correction — Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion — Request deletion of your data
  • Portability — Request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Restriction — Request that we limit processing of your data
  • Objection — Object to our processing of your data

10. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our infrastructure providers operate. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

11. Children's Privacy

Our Apps are designed for use by Shopify merchants (businesses) and are not directed at individuals under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
